At The Spanish Academy, we believe that children learn languages best in the same way they learn their first language: by listening, understanding and speaking before focusing on reading and writing.
Our lessons are designed to help children develop a genuine love of Spanish while building the confidence to communicate naturally from the very beginning.
Whether your child is learning Spanish for fun, growing up in a bilingual family, preparing for school examinations or simply discovering a new language, we provide engaging, personalised lessons that inspire curiosity, confidence and a lifelong love of learning.
Learning the Natural Way
Communication is at the heart of everything we do.
Children are naturally curious and learn languages through meaningful interaction. Rather than simply memorising vocabulary or repeating set phrases, we encourage them to understand and use Spanish from the very beginning.
Our lessons are carefully planned to help children:
- Listen to authentic Spanish spoken by native teachers.
- Understand the language through context, games and conversation.
- Speak confidently from their very first lessons.
- Develop accurate pronunciation and a natural Spanish accent.
- Build vocabulary in meaningful situations.
- Express their own ideas and opinions.
- Enjoy learning through engaging and interactive activities.
Reading and writing are introduced naturally as children become confident speakers, helping them develop all four language skills while maintaining their enthusiasm and confidence.
Native Teachers, Authentic Spanish
All lessons are taught by qualified native Spanish teachers with specialist qualifications in Modern Languages and Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE).
From the very beginning, children hear authentic pronunciation, natural expressions and real Spanish spoken as it is used every day.
As multilingual teachers who have learned foreign languages ourselves, we understand the language-learning journey and know how to make lessons enjoyable, motivating and effective.
More Than Learning Words
At The Spanish Academy, our goal is not simply for children to recognise vocabulary or memorise sentences. We want them to become confident communicators who can:
- Understand spoken Spanish.
- Speak naturally and confidently.
- Hold real conversations.
- Express themselves independently.
- Travel confidently in Spanish-speaking countries.
- Communicate with friends, relatives and native speakers.
These strong communication skills also provide an excellent foundation for future academic success.
Individual Lessons Designed Around Your Child
Every lesson is taught one-to-one online, allowing us to personalise every aspect of the learning experience. Lessons are adapted to each child’s:
- Age
- Level
- Interests
- Learning style
- Personality
- Goals
This individual approach allows every child to progress at their own pace while receiving the encouragement, support and challenge they need to flourish.
As part of Academy Membership, students are also invited to join our weekly Children’s Conversation Club, where they can enjoy using Spanish with other learners in a relaxed, friendly and supportive environment.
Inclusive Learning
Every child deserves to feel understood, supported and inspired.
Our team has extensive experience teaching children with a wide range of learning profiles, including:
- High Learning Potential (Gifted Education)
- ADHD
- Autism
- Dyslexia
- Williams syndrome
- Other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Lessons are carefully adapted to build on each child’s strengths, helping every learner develop confidence and reach their full potential.
Preparing for the Future
Many of our students begin learning Spanish at a very young age and continue with us throughout their educational journey. As they grow, we support them at every stage, including:
- Pre-School Spanish
- Primary School Spanish
- Secondary School Spanish
- Spanish GCSE
- A-Level Spanish
- DELE (A1–C2)
What is DELE?
DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera) is the official, internationally recognised Spanish language qualification for non-native speakers, awarded by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education.
By developing strong communication skills from an early age, our students build a solid foundation that prepares them not only for future qualifications but also for using Spanish confidently throughout their lives.
A Lifelong Love of Spanish
Our aim is to help every child discover the joy of learning Spanish.
Some children begin with us simply because they are curious about a new language. Others join to support their school studies, prepare for future examinations or strengthen their connection with their Spanish-speaking heritage.
Whatever their starting point, our goal is always the same: to help every child become a confident, independent Spanish speaker who enjoys using the language and continues learning for many years to come.
We would be delighted to welcome your child to The Spanish Academy and accompany them on their Spanish learning journey.
