Whether you are learning for school, work, travel, relocation to Spain, home education or simply for the enjoyment of learning a new language, we will tailor your lessons to your individual goals.

All of our lessons are taught one-to-one online, allowing us to personalise every lesson to the individual learner.

As part of Academy Membership, students are also invited to join one of our weekly Conversation Clubs for additional speaking practice. Separate Conversation Clubs are available for:

• Children.
• Teenagers.
• Adults.

Participation is entirely optional and included with Academy Membership.

Yes. All of our teachers are native Spanish speakers, qualified teachers and specialists in Modern Languages and Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE).

We prepare students for:

• Spanish GCSE.
• A-Level Spanish.
• DELE (A1–C2).

We also offer:

• Children’s Spanish.
• Spanish for Bilingual Children.
• Conversational Spanish.
• Spanish for Relocation to Spain.
• Spanish for Home-Educated Students and Private Candidates.

For GCSE and A-Level Spanish, we prepare students for the major UK examination boards, including:

• AQA.
• Pearson Edexcel.
• OCR.
• Eduqas (WJEC), where applicable.

Lessons are tailored to each student’s examination board and school requirements.

DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera) is the official, internationally recognised Spanish language qualification for non-native speakers, awarded by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education.

We prepare students for every DELE level, from A1 to C2.

All lessons are taught live online with your teacher. All you need is:

• A computer, laptop or tablet.
• A reliable internet connection.
• A microphone and speakers (or headphones).

Your teacher will guide you through everything you need before your first lesson.

No. Rather than offering a single free trial lesson, we offer a three-week introductory period.

This gives both the student and the teacher the opportunity to get to know each other, discuss learning goals and experience our personalised teaching approach over several lessons.

During this introductory period, there is no long-term commitment. Students may stop lessons at any time by giving at least 48 hours’ written notice before their next scheduled lesson. They will simply be invoiced for the lessons that have taken place or were booked in accordance with our Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy.

At the end of the introductory period, students who wish to continue become Academy Members and join our regular four-week teaching cycle.

Academy Membership includes:

• Four personalised one-to-one online lessons during each four-week teaching cycle.
• A regular weekly lesson reserved exclusively for you.
• The opportunity to rearrange lessons to another available lesson time, subject to availability and our Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy.
• Complimentary access to one weekly Conversation Club.
• Ongoing support throughout your Spanish learning journey.

Academy Membership is billed every four teaching weeks. At the end of each academic term, if fewer than four teaching weeks remain before the holidays, members are invoiced only for the remaining teaching weeks.

Yes. Every student is allocated a regular weekly lesson time.

If you are unable to attend your usual lesson, you will be able to rearrange it to another available lesson time, subject to availability and our Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy.

We understand that plans sometimes change.

Students who give at least 24 hours’ written notice may rearrange their lesson to another available lesson time, subject to availability.

Rearranged lessons are booked on a first come, first served basis through our online booking system.

We understand that holidays and family commitments are an important part of life.

If you know you will be away, please let us know as early as possible.

Provided that we receive at least 24 hours’ written notice, you will be able to rearrange your lesson to another available lesson time, subject to availability and our Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy.

The Spanish Academy follows an annual academic calendar. Our regular teaching breaks are:

• Summer: Five weeks in August.
• Christmas: Two weeks.
• Easter: Two weeks.

Lessons do not take place during these scheduled Academy holidays, and students are not charged for these weeks. Holiday dates are published in advance each academic year.

Yes. We have extensive experience supporting bilingual children who:

• Understand Spanish but usually reply in another language.
• Speak Spanish but would like to develop reading and writing skills.
• Wish to maintain a strong connection with their language, family and cultural heritage.
• Are preparing for GCSE, A-Level or DELE.

Yes. We have extensive experience supporting home-educated learners and private candidates of all ages.

We prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Spanish and are happy to provide general guidance on the process of entering students as private candidates for official examinations.

Yes. We offer practical Spanish lessons designed specifically for people relocating to Spain.

Lessons focus on real-life communication, everyday situations and the language needed to settle confidently into Spanish life, including the vocabulary commonly used in everyday administrative situations.

Not at all. We teach learners from complete beginners to advanced speakers.

Whether you are learning your first Spanish words or preparing for advanced qualifications, we will adapt the lessons to your level and goals.

Homework is optional and depends on each student’s age, goals and availability.

Many students appreciate additional activities between lessons, while others prefer to focus on learning during their weekly sessions.

Where appropriate, we provide personalised activities to reinforce learning and encourage steady progress.

Joining The Spanish Academy is simple.

Complete our online Admissions Form, and we will review your enquiry before getting in touch to discuss your learning goals, answer any questions and recommend the most suitable lessons for your needs.

If appropriate, we will then arrange your three-week introductory period, giving you the opportunity to experience our personalised teaching approach before becoming an Academy Member.
